" Tropea " è un orologio che si sviluppa in profondità, mostrando i segni del suo spessore. Gli anelli conici infilati l'uno nell'altro rendono visibili i cerchi della crescita. "Tropea " vuole così riflettere la sezione di un albero che emerge dopo un taglio netto del tronco, enfatizzando, attraverso l'orologio, il trascorrere del tempo e il relativo modificarsi della materia. Si scopre il passato della pianta congelato negli anelli concentrici del legno: tanti quanti sono stati gli anni di vita. Il vetro, come si usava negli orologi di una volta, ferma il tempo andato; le lancette, inaccessibili, scandiscono quello che verrà.
